Setline is the system I built to book my own client work. An AI assistant with its own name and email writes outreach in a voice you train, sends it through your own Apple Mail a little each day, and follows up for months so nobody slips through the cracks. It runs entirely on your Mac. I check mine about five minutes a day.

Before strangers can buy it, I want people I trust to install it for real. The deal: you get it free, forever. You cover your own small running costs (a few dollars of API credit). In exchange I want your honest feedback during setup, and if you like it, a sentence I can quote.

A MacSetline sends through Apple Mail and schedules with macOS. It needs to live on a Mac you use.

Claude Code, installed and signed inGet it at claude.com/claude-code with an active Claude subscription. Open it once so sign-in is done before we meet.

A dedicated email address for your assistantA fresh Gmail works great (something like yourname.assistant@gmail.com). Keep the password handy.

Gmail users: an App PasswordIf the assistant address is Gmail with 2-step verification, create an App Password at myaccount.google.com > Security > App passwords and save it. This is the step everyone forgets.

Your own email working in Apple MailOpen Mail on your Mac and make sure your everyday address sends and receives.

Optional but nice: a CSV of contacts (name, email, company). Twenty rows is plenty. No list is fine too, Setline can find people.

5 minBuild your assistant

Name it, give it a personality and its own address. Email-only or add LinkedIn.

10 minInstall and wire up

Claude installs the engine and adds the assistant to Apple Mail. Passwords go into Mail's own dialog, never chat.

25 minYour first five emails, for real

Name your five dream contacts. Claude finds their addresses, drafts to each, and you edit together until it sounds like you. Then they send.

10 minOn the schedule

Where does my data live?

In files on your Mac. There is no Setline server. The system only calls the services you connect with your own keys: Anthropic for drafting, Hunter for finding addresses, Apify only if you enable LinkedIn.

Will this hurt my email reputation?

It does the opposite of the burner-inbox playbook: low volume, one real mailbox, a slow ramp (about 35 a day at first), and it stops the moment someone replies.

What does it cost me to run?

A few dollars of Anthropic API per month and Hunter's free tier to start. No subscription, ever.

What if I want to stop?

Two files pause everything instantly. It's your Mac; nothing phones home.
